Come join us and find the keys to your future!This position is in the Technology & Production -Shared System Services (IT) Department, SC Department of Motor Vehicles, Headquarters, Blythewood, South Carolina.
Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer IoResponsible for SCCM/WSUS administration to include deploying Windows Operating System updates, third party updates, and out of band security patches.
Deploys and installs authorized software and applications as requested.
oResponsible for developing, analyzing, recommending and implementing best practices and procedures pertaining to primary responsibilities oAssists in server management, inventory, deployment and maintenance to include installation, setup, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Server technologies.
oProvide Tier 3 support for DMV IT Help Desk by troubleshooting and resolving server and desktop problems to include documenting all support calls and resolutions.
oPerforms on-call responsibilities on a rotating schedule with other DMV engineers during non-business hours.
oResponsible for research and evaluation of current technology.
Keeps abreast of relevant Microsoft roadmaps, release notes, advisories and security notices.
Provides recommendations to management for improving the agency's system patch and update processes.
oAs a member of the information security incident response team (ISIRT), utilizes available network and software tools, DMV policies, processes and procedures to detect, identify, troubleshoot, isolate, and correct data/equipment/network related security issues.
Assists other ISIRT team member and responds to emails, ISIRT team members will ensure the CIO and ISO are informed of all actions performed or needed.
Documents incidents on the tracking logoPerforms other duties as required by managerMinimum and Additional Requirements Minimum RequirementsoA bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification.
Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Additional Requirementso3 years of experience in the configuration and management of Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems is required.
oKnowledge of Microsoft SCCM/WSUS and strong problem-solving skills is required.
oSome overnight travel may be required, must be able to lift 50 lbs.

oWill be required to have an Agency issued phone and reachable with it at all times.
