Supervisor Manufacturing Engineering
Summary/Purpose Plans, directs, and coordinates Engineering/technical support for the manufacturing processes in either Turning or Grind and Assembly by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
o Directs and coordinates day to day work assignments of Manufacturing Engineers Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and conducts performance reviews for direct reports o Develop and implement solutions to manufacturing problems and improvements in manufacturing methods that result in improved quality and increased productivity while maintaining a safe working environment. o Provide training to Operators, Setup Associates, Manufacturing Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineers to improve technical abilities. o Interface with all levels in the organization using verbal, written and graphical communication tools to ensure efficient production methods. o Design and document tooling designs on drawings that communicate tooling requirements to toolmakers. o Analyzes and plans work force utilization, spaces requirements, and workflow, and designs layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. o Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. o Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. o Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. o Confers with management, engineering, JTEKT Japan, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, new installation, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. o Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc. o Plans, implements and tracks Capital and Non-Capital projects and reports to management on a regular basis. o Assists in creating annual budgets for overhead operating supplies and monthly reporting of results. o Participate in the development of departmental and salary budgets. o Support 5-S, Kaizen Team and Koyo Production System, TSI6949 and ISO14001 efforts throughout the Plant. o Other duties as assigned. o Must have good leadership skills o Strong engineering/problem solving skills o Good communication skills Education and
Experience:
o Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in science or engineering from a four-year college or university; and five to seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. o Prefer 5-7 years experience in an automated Grinding or Turning environment o 2-3 years experience in a leadership role preferred.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Industrial EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
